Calvin Klein Men’s Slim Fit Tuxedo

By  |

For those of you that don’t know (let’s face it, it’ll be a minuscule percentage of the population)  Calvin Klein is an American luxury brand. It is head-quartered in Midtown Manhattan, New York City and is owned by Phillips-Van Heusen. The iconic pieces that make up the various Calvin Klein collections are some of the best-known clothing items in the world. Calvin Klein was founded in 1968 and has enjoyed a rich history, shaping the brand into the household name that it is today.

Calvin Klein – The Story.

In 1968 the first Calvin Klein store – a coat shop – was opened. It was located in the York Hotel in New York City and featured a line of youthful, understated coats and dresses. Later that year, Klein appeared on the cover of Vogue magazine. By 1971, sportswear including blazers and lingerie was added to the women’s collection. By 1977, scarves, shoes, belts, furs, sunglasses and sheets were also available.

The company continued to grow by leaps and bounds throughout the 70s until late in the decade when they made an attempt to branch into the fragrance and cosmetic industry. Klein soon withdrew from the market amidst large financial losses. In the 1980s, Calvin Klein made a comeback thanks to the designer-jeans frenzy. The 1980s also bore witness to the infamous Calvin Klein underwear ads.

In December 2002, Calvin Klein was sold to Phillips Van Heusen for about $400 million in cash, $30 million in stock, licensing rights and royalties rumoured to be worth roughly $200 to $300 million. Today, the Calvin Klein brand continues to produce classic, well made pieces that are sought after throughout the world.

The trousers are shipped unhemmed, allowing the fit to be customized to the wearer.

The Calvin Klein Slim Fit Tuxedo is made to look like a designer suit, but at a price that’s affordable to every man. The suit arrives on a hanger in a box and requires minimal alteration and pressing before wearing. The slim fit black tuxedo is ideal for use at weddings, charity events and black tie galas. The price of the tuxedo is slightly more than for a rental, but you get the added peace of mind knowing that no other man has worn the tuxedo before you and that none of the components are stained, torn or aged.

Please note that the sizing guide should be used before ordering to ensure the proper fit. The Calvin Klein Slim Fit Tuxedo is meant to fit close to the body, so you may have to order a smaller jacket size than you are used to.
